A good time in the garden

DSC_0349 (640x428)The puppies are making good progress with their weaning, they had been a little slow at working out how to lap their meal, but Im pleased to say they are eating with vigour!

The weather has enabled the puppies to spend a little longer in the garden and I am really pleased with how they have taken to being in the garden.  They are in and out of the garden frequently to try and ensure the correct message is put across.

Today they had a bit of time exploring the garden, it was nice to see them taking it in their stride.

Today a lovely family have chosen their puppy – Jake – Mr Yellow.  The family today had a nice time with them in the garden, watching Melvin loving his nephews and nieces too.  He was busy giving them all kisses!!

Rainy day… means wetplay indoors!

DSC_0113

Another hectic day at Marchstone headquarters!  The weather has not been on our side for toilet training as puppies quite simply do not like being out on wet grass (let alone to be rained on!)

A bundle of puppies

Will this be our first escapee?  (wont be long until we find out which puppy is strong enough to get over the top!)

Not quite so little anymore!

The pups are doing so well with Maggies milk that they are lovely and squidgy to cuddle!  Mischief is literally around the corner now, I am just waiting to see which pup is going to be the first escapee.  This information I shall keep to myself! hee hee!

Maggie is struggling a little bit to feed the puppies comfortably.  Here is a video of her from earlier, she has also been trying to feed whilst standing up!

The puppies are gathering pace with their walking abilities.  Certainly getting more stable.  We are trying to get them out for toilet breaks at every opportunity.  Progress will be made as time goes on, making it all a more natural process for them.

A common sight in the “puppy pot” Mr Orange is a Melvin!

Some good news – I have been in touch with Farlap Photography who has taken photos of Maggie and her siblings when they were 7 weeks old.  I am hoping to be able to have another photo session

Another fun packed day!

Lots of cuddles and playtime.  The puppies do like to play rough and tumble with each other and have been trouncing the toys!  They are well on target with learning how to play with each other.  I had also forgotten to mention we have had some barking amongst them – it is s funny as they don’t seem big enough to bark!

They have been in and out of the garden – with some success on the timing of going for wees outside!

The puppies have been in the garden for the second time.  We managed to time it so they did their wees outside! Yay good puppies.

What a special moment…

Maggie and Molly have been in the whelping box at the same time with the puppies.  It was so lovely to see that Molly was allowed to enjoy the puppies.

It is a wonderful thing to witness, Molly automatically had respect for Maggie.  She hasn’t tried to overstep the line once, today something had changed within Maggie as Molly just popped into the box and started licking the puppies.

I feel really pleased for Molly as she has been able to enjoy a little bit of quality time with Mr Orange.

Miss Pink in the garden!

The puppies have spent time in the garden. they were actually quite adventurous which I was surprised about as that is usually on the second or third time in the garden that I would have expected to see brave puppies exploring.

Then we had to do the dreaded worming – the puppies were not impressed and I am hoping things will be ok with their tummies in the morning.  I will be giving them a little natural yoghurt this evening to try and pre-empt any problems.

having fun with the puppies …

DSC_0952

We have enjoyed playing with the puppies this morning.  They are enjoying a little bit of freedom on the carpet!  Got some training in – with them all sitting! yay…TROOPERS!!!

Today is a fun filled day…. we shall be putting them out in the garden for the first time later this afternoon and we will also be worming them.

Another Milestone being met

DSC_0938

The puppies are doing marvellously.  They are now getting their deciduous teeth (baby teeth).  Some of the teeth have broken through the gums – so poor Maggie is having to get used to them during feed time.  The deciduous teeth do start to break through from the age of three weeks – so the pups are bang on target!

I have given the puppies two small meals and will be increasing this tomorrow to three meals.  Tomorrow is worming day – so wish all of our pups luck as it can be quite a sensitive time for them.

Molly has spent some time with her grandchildren.  She was delighted as Maggie was in the garden!

Molly isn’t the only visitor the pups have had – but Uncle Melvin also came to have a look too!
